Haewon Biotech, Increasing Demand for 'Anti-Vipukan' Supporting Immune Regulation

Haewon Biotech, Increasing Demand for 'Anti-Vipukan' Supporting Immune Regulation

Immuno-functional product produced by domestic bio company Haewon Biotech (product name ‘Antiv Fucan’) was exported on the 21st to the United States, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

In addition, negotiations are currently underway with China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand, so demand is expected to increase significantly. The company analyzes that the recent increase in exports is influenced by the spread of the coronavirus.

‘Antiv Fucan’ is a complex functional food composed of sulfated polysaccharides and vitamin complex fucoidan contained in domestic brown algae, as well as microalgae extracts. According to H. Negishi (2013) and others, Mekabu fucoidan (MF), a sulfated polysaccharide extracted from seaweed, has been shown to have immune-modulating effects.

Therefore, fucoidan is explained to prevent viral infection by blocking the virus from entering cells and inhibiting the virus from attaching to host cells.

A representative of Haewon Biotech stated, “We are running the factory at full capacity to increase the production of raw materials and products, so supply will be smoother both domestically and internationally,” and added, “The domestic release product will be supplied as New Natural F Plus, a renewed product that has been enhanced from ‘Natural F Plus’ released during the H1N1 flu.”
