[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 25th that four projects were finally selected in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's '2020 Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support' contest, securing 349 million KRW in national funding.
The Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project is a program led by local governments to form consortia with non-profit organizations and others to train customized professional manpower suitable for regional industries and connect them to employment, aiming to solve employment issues within the region.
The four selected projects are ▲Super-aged Society Elderly Care Professional Training Project (Chosun Nursing University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation) ▲Artificial Intelligence Coding Expert Training Project (Songwon University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation) ▲Traditional Market-linked Commercial District Revitalization Youth Merchant Development Platform (Malbau Market Culture Center) ▲Childcare Professional Training Project (Chosun Nursing University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation).
The district plans to officially promote the projects by recruiting participants for each project and conducting expert training courses in each field, starting with a business agreement ceremony scheduled for March.
A Seo-gu official said, “Despite the poor financial environment in local areas, we are striving to provide new job opportunities for youth and middle-aged groups through government contest projects,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to train professional manpower suitable for regional industries and create customized jobs in line with government policies.”
