The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters for COVID-19 announced that as of 9 a.m. on this day, 60 new COVID-19 patients were confirmed in the country. This figure includes cases reported from 4 p.m. on the 24th until overnight. The cumulative number of confirmed cases increased from 833 in the afternoon of the previous day to 893. The additional confirmed cases were distributed by region as follows: 33 in Gyeongbuk, 16 in Daegu, 5 in Gyeonggi, 3 in Busan, 2 in Seoul, and 1 in Gyeongnam.
The death toll also increased by one, reaching 8. The 107th patient (male, born in 1953), who was hospitalized at Gyeongbuk National University Hospital, died the previous day and was included in the morning tally. This patient was a confirmed case related to Daenam Hospital in Cheongdo, Gyeongbuk.
The number of patients who have been declared recovered and released from isolation remains at 22, the same as the previous afternoon. As of 9 a.m. on this day, there are 35,823 suspected cases showing symptoms such as fever and cough after traveling to China and other COVID-19 outbreak countries. This is an increase of 3,900 from 31,923 the previous afternoon. Among them, 22,550 tested negative, and 13,273 are still undergoing testing.
