Encouragement to Employees on 24-Hour Emergency Duty via In-House Broadcast on the 24th... Advising Health Management and Participation in Revitalizing the Local Economy
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin District, encouraged employees who are working around the clock on emergency duty due to COVID-19 on the 24th.
Mayor Kim stated through the internal broadcast that with the COVID-19 crisis alert raised to the highest level, ‘Severe’, the role of the employees has become even more important.
Also, as it has been about a month since the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters began operating, he expressed concern about the high work fatigue of the employees and urged special attention to health management if any employee has recently visited specific areas or religious facilities.
Mayor Kim explained the proactive measures being carried out in Gwangjin District, including ▲holding countermeasure meetings with related organizations and professional groups ▲conducting a second round of health checks for international students ▲disinfection and mask support for religious facilities along with sending letters ▲and preparing support measures for the depressed local commercial districts, requesting prompt handling of these matters.
In particular, he emphasized ▲promoting rapid execution of local finances ▲supporting priority participation of local businesses in private contracts ▲and actively implementing twice-weekly closures of the district cafeteria to revitalize the local commercial districts.
He then conveyed that, as has been done so far, close contacts should be thoroughly managed, detailed disinfection and sterilization should be conducted in high-risk places, and Gwangjin District should be safely protected from COVID-19.
Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “In difficult times, the wisdom of all of us is needed,” and added, “If anyone has good ideas related to COVID-19, please feel free to suggest them anytime.”
He also stated, “The health of the employees is the health of Gwangjin,” and urged, “If there are any abnormal symptoms, please promptly get tested at the health center and pay special attention to self-care.”
