[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 24th that it will temporarily allow the use of disposable products following the escalation of the COVID-19 crisis alert to the 'serious' level.

The Ministry of Environment previously issued guidelines permitting the use of disposable products not only in food service establishments with frequent domestic and international visitors but also in other locations if the local government head deems it urgent.

The city also urged thorough hygiene management when using reusable containers and other items.
