On the 22nd (local time), US economic media Forbes predicted that BTS's fourth full-length album, 'Map of the Soul: 7,' will sell 300,000 copies domestically and debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in its first week. Since no other album currently shows such sales figures, their rise to No. 1 is considered a foregone conclusion. BTS has already topped iTunes charts in 91 countries.
BTS has also taken over New York with their comeback. Following their first comeback stage in New York, they have appeared on popular broadcasts, gaining widespread fame. Various broadcasters are making efforts to host BTS.
On the 21st, BTS made their comeback through NBC's famous morning talk show 'Today Show,' broadcast live outdoors at Rockefeller Plaza in New York. Despite the cold weather at minus 6 degrees Celsius, the outdoor stage set by the broadcaster was met with enthusiastic cheers from fans welcoming the return of the 'K-pop Emperor.'
Following the Today Show, BTS moved to the MTV studio located near Times Square to appear on the 'MTV Fresh Out' broadcast.
BTS's conquest of New York's broadcasting scene continues. On the 24th, they will appear on NBC's 'The Tonight Show,' where they will premiere the stage for 'ON' and release a video showing them riding the subway and visiting famous New York spots from popular eateries to Grand Central Terminal. It is said that NBC specially allocated one hour for BTS. On the 25th, they will appear on CBS's 'The Late Late Show,' where viewers can see them riding around New York in a car driven by host James Corden while singing in the 'Carpool Karaoke' segment.
Times Square, New York's premier landmark, was also filled with BTS's presence. The YouTube advertisement for the title track 'ON' from their fourth album was displayed on large billboards, and Hyundai Motor Company’s 'BTS Global Hydrogen Campaign' video was also featured. The video, themed around 'the inspiration that beautiful nature gives to life,' was screened repeatedly for one hour.
The global music streaming company Spotify also announced that it is providing streaming services for their fourth full-length album.
