Director Han explained, "The Chief Secretary Meeting today will be attended by 10 infectious disease experts, including Baek Kyung-ran, Chairperson of the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases; Kim Dong-hyun, President of the Korean Society of Epidemiology; Heo Tak, Chairperson of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine; Kim Seong-ran, President of the Korean Association of Infection Control Nurses; Eom Jung-sik, Policy Director of the Korean Society for Healthcare-associated Infection Control; Jeong Hee-jin, Vice President of the Korean Society of Antimicrobial Therapy; Choi Eun-hwa, Vice President of the Korean Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases; Kim Sang-il, Head of the Practical Task Force of the Pan-medical COVID-19 Countermeasure Committee; Lee Hee-young, Practical Task Force; and Choi Young-jun, Secretary."

Director Han stated, "The Pan-medical COVID-19 Countermeasure Committee includes 11 societies such as the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases, and has been providing advice and consultation to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters regarding treatment, testing, and clinical experience."

Director Han said, "The crisis level has been raised from caution to severe. The Blue House plans to operate the COVID-19 response system accordingly," adding, "The existing daily situation room meetings will be maintained. In fact, the meetings chaired by three directors, which have been discussing COVID-19 response, will be formalized as the COVID-19 Response Strategy Meeting and will be fully launched starting tomorrow."
