[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Korea Securities Association announced on the 24th that Professor Ahn Hee-jun of Sungkyunkwan University Business School has been inaugurated as the 37th president.
Newly appointed President Ahn graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Kangwon National University and earned an MBA and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Pennsylvania State University in the United States. After working at City University of Hong Kong and Sookmyung Women's University, he is currently a professor at Sungkyunkwan University Business School.
He has published numerous research papers in the fields of market microstructure and investment theory in domestic and international academic journals, and has received awards for outstanding papers selected by the Korea Securities Association, the Korean Finance Association, and the Korea Exchange.
He has served as chairman of the Clearing and Settlement Risk Management Committee of the Korea Exchange and is currently serving as a member of the Public Fund Management Committee’s Fund Support Review Subcommittee, an external evaluation member for financial investment business licensing at the Financial Supervisory Service, an appraisal advisory member for the Korea Exchange’s court appraisal, and a member of the Samsung Life Ethical Management Advisory Group.
Meanwhile, founded in 1976, the Korea Securities Association is a leading academic society with the longest history in the fields of finance and financial management, boasting 1,450 members. It is the most prestigious academic society in academia, emphasizing the connection between scholarship and practice, contributing not only to pure academic research but also to the improvement of financial practice and systems.
