Daegu Visit Match Siheung Police Station Officer Tests Positive for COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] A police officer belonging to the Siheung Police Station in Gyeonggi Province has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

On the 24th, Siheung Police Station announced, "A police officer who recently visited Daegu tested positive for COVID-19 and was transferred to Myeongji Hospital in Ilsan." The officer was tested during a night shift at the police station early that morning and was immediately isolated after receiving a positive test result.

The officer reportedly visited Daegu, where his in-laws live, from the 15th to the 17th. Afterwards, he showed symptoms of mild fever and cough and visited a public health center in Bucheon, his place of residence, the previous afternoon to undergo testing.

Siheung Police Station has instructed all employees who had contact with the officer not to come to work and is conducting disinfection operations in the police station building.
