KT Skylife and Korea National Council on Social Welfare Join Hands

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Satellite broadcaster KT Skylife is partnering with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare under the Ministry of Health and Welfare to provide broadcasting support to major welfare facilities nationwide.

On the 24th, KT Skylife signed a business agreement promising broadcasting welfare support through the sponsorship of the "Love Antenna" program for child centers and nursing facilities managed by the Korea National Council on Social Welfare. "Love Antenna" is a satellite broadcasting social contribution activity that donates UHD TVs and satellite broadcasting equipment to facilities for the disabled and vulnerable groups in areas with poor reception or where access to culture and information is needed. From 2015 until last year, a total of 719 locations have been supported.

Through this agreement, KT Skylife plans to select more than 15 welfare facilities each quarter and provide ultra-high-definition UHD TVs and satellite broadcasting services worth a total of 143 million KRW annually. Facilities and households wishing to receive related support can check the application details announced on the Welfare Net site and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare’s own media such as Welfare Times and Welfare Journal, and apply for "Love Antenna" support.

Kang Guk-hyun, CEO of KT Skylife, said, "We are pleased to contribute to closing the information and cultural gap for neighbors living in welfare facilities together with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare," adding, "Going forward, satellite broadcasting will continue to expand and support 'Love Antenna' for neighbors in need of broadcasting welfare to realize a society where everyone lives together." Seo Sang-mok, chairman of the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, said, "We expect this agreement to greatly help improve cultural welfare for marginalized groups," and added, "We ask for KT Skylife’s continued participation and support in creating social value."
