Applications accepted from February 18 to March 11 at Geumha Village Urban Regeneration Field Support Center... Specialized project planning contest for social service provision, village space revitalization, etc.... Up to 10 million KRW per project within a total budget of 20 million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) is conducting the ‘2020 Geumha Village Urban Regeneration Resident Contest Project’ until March 11 to increase local residents' interest and participation in the Doksan 1-dong Geumha Village (around Doksan 1-dong 1100 area) Urban Regeneration New Deal project and to discover residents' innovative ideas.
This contest is held as a ‘planned contest’ with themes including ‘social service provision’ within the project area, ‘community contribution’ such as energy-saving practices and sharing markets, discovering operation programs for resident shared-use facility spaces, and ‘village space revitalization’ such as self-interior classes.
Applicants are eligible regardless of residence or location if they are ‘groups of five or more with expertise in the relevant field’ or ‘resident groups of five or more or groups based on village units.’
If selected for the contest project, up to KRW 10 million per project can be supported within a total project budget of KRW 20 million. However, 10% of the project cost must be self-funded.
Groups or resident meetings interested in the contest can download the application form from the ‘Notices and Announcements’ section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website (www.geumcheon.go.kr), fill it out, and submit it by visiting the Geumha Village Urban Regeneration On-site Support Center (16, Geumha-ro 1da-gil, 3rd floor) or by email (geumha2019@gmail.com) by 6 p.m. on March 11.
The district will verify the feasibility, project execution capability, and effectiveness through preliminary document screening, proposer presentation evaluation by the selection committee, and review by the Local Subsidy Committee, then announce the final selected teams on the Geumcheon-gu website and notify them individually around mid-April.
To assist participants in the resident contest project, pre-consultations on ‘project plan guidance’ and ‘how to write a project plan’ will be conducted during the application period.
Pre-consultations can be requested by phone (☏897-1567) or by visiting the Geumha Village Urban Regeneration On-site Support Center.
Since July 2018, when the Doksan 1-dong Geumha Village area was selected for the Urban Regeneration New Deal project under the ‘Saving Our Neighborhood’ category, the district has been promoting resident-centered urban regeneration projects such as △creating a complex resident activity hub △improving and enhancing the use of children’s parks △improving residential safety with CCTV and streetlight installation △and street environment maintenance to create a communicative, safe, and pleasant Geumha Village.
Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yuseonghun said, “Since the first step of the 2018 Geumha Village urban regeneration project, thanks to the passionate participation of residents over about two years, Geumha Village has been reborn as a happy village living together with neighbors,” and added, “Through this contest project, we will discover various ideas suited to the local characteristics and lay the foundation for sustainable urban regeneration.”
