[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Dongshin University (President Choi Il) announced on the 23rd that its University Job Center received the highest rating (Excellent) for four consecutive years, the only university in Gwangju and Jeonnam to do so, in the ‘2019 Performance Evaluation.’
The annual performance evaluation is conducted by the Korea Employment Information Service under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, targeting 105 university job centers nationwide, and is rated on three levels: Excellent, Average, and Poor.
Dongshin University achieved the distinction of being selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years, following 2016, 2017, and 2018. It is the only university in Gwangju and Jeonnam to receive the highest rating for four consecutive years.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor guidelines, Dongshin University’s University Job Center benefits from a one-year extension of its project period, originally scheduled until February next year, now extended to February 2022.
In this evaluation, Dongshin University was recognized for establishing infrastructure for career guidance and employment and startup support, operating customized career and employment support programs tailored to different levels, such as industry-linked field practice programs and overseas employment programs, contributing to proper career support and enhancement of employment capabilities for students and local youth.
Utilizing the mobile youth DS bus, the center provided various employment support services to local youth, and unlike other university job centers, it supported employment budgets for local universities and high schools, offering diverse programs such as employment special lectures and interview consulting, which contributed to improving employment rates and received favorable evaluations.
Additionally, it contributed to solving employment issues for local youth and policy formulation by establishing a local youth employment governance system.
Recognizing these achievements, Dongshin University’s University Job Center was the only one among universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam to receive the Minister of Employment and Labor Award last year, as well as the Korea Employment Information Service Director’s Award, an excellence award in employment support.
Having been selected as an excellent institution four times, Dongshin University’s University Job Center benefits from a one-year extension of its project period, originally until February 2021, now extended to February 2022, according to Ministry of Employment and Labor guidelines.
Oh Seong-rok, director of Dongshin University’s University Job Center, said, “This year, we plan to carry out various projects to support career planning and employment for students and local youth,” adding, “As a university that received an excellent evaluation, we will play a leading role in guiding other university job centers in the region.”
