[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] On the 23rd, the KBS 1TV educational program 'Let's Do Politics' will feature various panelists including Yoo Si-min, chairman of the People’s Livelihood Foundation and the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, discussing the criteria for voting for members of the National Assembly.
The panelists for the day include Chairman Yoo Si-min, Professor Park Hyung-joon of Dong-A University, history writer Heo Jin-mo, and special guest broadcaster Choi Wook.
During the recording held before the broadcast, announcer Choi Won-seok, who hosted the session, said, "According to last month’s KBS opinion poll, 39.2% of respondents said they would vote based on the candidate, which was the highest, followed by 34.1% who said they would vote based on the party."
In response, Professor Park stated, "Looking at past voting patterns, people basically prioritize the party first. Considering the candidate within that party comes next, and surprisingly, in general elections, factors like pledges have relatively little influence on voting."
Chairman Yoo said, "Among voters, about two-thirds just vote based on the party. Someone like me wouldn’t even vote for the conservative party if King Sejong himself came out."
Meanwhile, KBS 1TV's 'Let's Do Politics' is a talk program that blends knowledge and real-world politics, consisting of Part 1 'Knowledge Square' and Part 2 'Public Sentiment Pocha,' which analyzes regional public opinion and polls.
It will be broadcast on the 23rd at 8:05 PM.
