Jin Joong-kwon: "Jeon Kwang-hoon and Hwang Kyo-ahn Should Stop Them... Fanatics Are the Problem"

Jin Joong-kwon: "Jeon Kwang-hoon and Hwang Kyo-ahn Should Stop Them... Fanatics Are the Problem" Seoul City has decided to temporarily ban gatherings at Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul Plaza, and Cheonggye Plaza to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Meanwhile, on the 23rd, the National Rally to Set the Republic of Korea Straight, hosted by the Moon Jae-in Resignation National Struggle Headquarters (Beomtu-bon), is being held in front of the Kyobo Building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. [Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon argued that Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the United Future Party, should stop Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon, who defied Seoul City's complete ban on downtown rallies and held a large-scale rally of the Gwanghwamun Moon Jae-in Resignation National Struggle Headquarters (Beomtu-bon).

On the 22nd, former professor Jin shared an article related to Pastor Jeon on his Facebook, saying, "If Mayor Park Won-soon tries to stop them, it will only backfire. The regime will probably get more excited, thinking they are being oppressed."

He added, "Therefore, the conservatives should restrain (Pastor Jeon)" and "They say they will hold an even bigger rally on March 1st."

He continued, "(Beomtu-bon members) are almost brainwashed to the level of religious faith," and pointed out, "Just as Jeong Bong-ju does his politics with Moon supporters, Jeon Gwang-hoon also does his politics with his fanatics. So they cannot be controlled. Anyway, fanatics on both sides are the problem."

Former professor Jin strongly criticized, "In this dangerous time, is it really necessary to hold a large political rally unrelated to people's livelihoods?" and asked, "Do conservatives and right-wingers have special bodies that the virus avoids, or is Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon's spiritual power so strong that the virus cannot approach? Why are they so reckless?"

Earlier, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon had banned downtown rallies on this day due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. However, Beomtu-bon went ahead with the 'National Rally to Set the Republic of Korea Straight' in front of the Kyobo Building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, starting at 12 PM.

Pastor Jeon also claimed in response to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, "According to clinical confirmation, there is absolutely no fact of (COVID-19 infection) outdoors."
