[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The Justice Party stated that it "urges strict judicial measures" regarding the 'National Struggle Headquarters for Moon Jae-in's Resignation' led by Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon, which forcibly held a rally at Gwanghwamun.
Kang Min-jin, spokesperson for the Justice Party, said in an evening briefing on the 22nd, "Despite Seoul city’s refusal of the rally under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, they defied the order. Given the contagious nature of the virus where infected individuals become transmitters, failure to follow preventive measures harms not only oneself but others as well. Therefore, this rally was a public nuisance and a dangerous illegal event. We hope they realize this and urge strict judicial action against Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon and the rally organizers."
He continued, "Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon has been reported for illegal election campaigning and an arrest warrant has been requested. He is scheduled for a warrant hearing on the 24th. The judiciary must teach him that lawlessness, violence, and incitement cannot escape legal judgment. We hope for Pastor Jeon’s detention."
