Daejeon City Orders Closure of 1,288 Daycare Centers Following COVID-19 Confirmed Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Daejeon City, where the first COVID-19 case was confirmed, issued an order to close daycare centers on the 22nd.


Daejeon City ordered the temporary closure of 1,288 daycare centers in the region for six days from the 24th to the 29th. Whether the closure will be extended will be separately notified depending on the situation.


Daejeon City has arranged for duty teachers to be assigned to daycare centers to provide care when guardians are unable to take care of children at home.


The city stated, "The temporary closure is due to the disaster situation," and added, "During the closure period, we will apply special attendance recognition and support childcare fees."
