A Total of 57.1 Billion Invested This Year, 3,950 Units Supported
Attachment of Three Types of Road Vehicle Emission Reduction Devices Including Dump Trucks
Full Support for Engine Replacement of Excavators and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Seoul City announced on the 23rd that it will expand the support scale eightfold compared to the previous year to implement low-emission measures for aging construction machinery.
The city plans to spend a total of 57.1 billion KRW this year to support 3,950 units. The budget has significantly increased compared to last year's 6.9 billion KRW.
For three types of road construction machinery such as dump trucks, concrete pump trucks, and concrete mixer trucks, emission reduction devices can be installed, or forklift and excavator engines can be replaced with new models, and full support without self-payment is available. The emission reduction device installation support is approximately 7.7 million KRW for medium-sized construction machinery and about 10 million KRW for large-sized machinery. In case of early scrapping, support of up to 30 million KRW is provided.
In the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul City, Incheon City, and Gyeonggi Province, the use of five types of aging construction machinery will be restricted from this year at public construction sites with budgets exceeding 10 billion KRW. The targets are three types of road machinery manufactured before 2005 and excavators and forklifts manufactured before 2003. Violations will result in administrative measures such as suspension of work and fines.
