Increase in Subsidy Rate from 40% to 50%, Full Support for Shiitake Spawn
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Jeong Jong-sun) announced on the 20th that it held the 2020 Forest Income Project Policy Review Meeting at the county office situation room with six forestry village sector review committee members in attendance.
The review committee, composed of private experts, submitted an agenda to select support recipients from 362 forestry households who applied for the 2020 Forest Income Increase Project and the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock and Food Project, and reviewed the eligibility of applicants and project feasibility.
As a result of the review, a total of 268 cases amounting to 1.9 billion KRW were finally selected, including 176 cases for the Forest Income Increase Infrastructure Project with 600 million KRW and 88 cases for the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock and Food Project with 1.3 billion KRW.
Starting this year, the subsidy rate has been expanded from the previous 40% to 50%, and priority was given to applicants to revitalize outdoor cultivation of raw shiitake mushrooms.
A Jangheung-gun official stated, “We will actively support forestry households facing difficulties such as climate change and aging, strengthen the competitiveness of the mushroom industry, and expand support to production, processing, and distribution sectors to contribute to increasing the income of forestry workers.”
