[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 21st that it will broadcast advertisements and subtitles containing prevention guidelines for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) using Olleh TV.
In addition to the advertisement videos, subtitles with COVID-19 related information will be broadcast on Olleh TV guide channel 999, which appears on the initial screen when the set-top box is powered on.
Furthermore, KT provided free communication services such as internet, Wi-Fi, and Olleh TV to the National Defense Language Institute in Icheon, where Korean residents who returned from Wuhan, China on the third chartered flight on the 12th stayed. To this end, KT urgently deployed 24 employees to the National Defense Language Institute on the 11th, the day before their arrival, installing Olleh TV in all 303 rooms and setting up 39 internet lines, 96 Wi-Fi lines, and 7 regular telephone lines.
Song Jae-ho, Executive Director of KT Media Platform Business Division, said, “KT, as a national company, is participating in efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by utilizing the media influence of its 8.3 million subscribers nationwide.
