My Art Museum's 'Alphonse Mucha Exhibition' Extended Until April 5

[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] My Art Museum announced on the 20th that it will extend the ongoing special opening exhibition 'Alphonse Mucha Exhibition' until April 5.

The Alphonse Mucha Exhibition opened on October 24 last year and was originally scheduled to end on the 1st of next month. My Art Museum explained that the extension was decided thanks to the support of many visitors. The museum added that it has received particularly strong responses from female visitors in their 20s and 30s.

Along with the encore extension, the museum plans to offer various weekly events such as the sale of additional merchandise that was not available at the beginning of the exhibition and a full-house promotion to thank visitors.

The Alphonse Mucha Exhibition displays over 230 original works including prints, oil paintings, and drawings, organized according to the life and journey of Alphonse Mucha, a representative Czech painter.

The exhibition features artworks in the so-called 'Mucha style,' characterized by vine-like women's hair and unique typography, showcasing the captivating and beautiful art style of Art Nouveau posters produced at the time. It also includes various styles of works created as Mucha returned to his homeland to inspire Slavic patriotism and painted large-scale masterpieces in a historical painting style until the end of his life.

Lee Taegun, director of My Art Museum, stated, "With the extension of the exhibition period, we expect more visitors to discover the beauty of the Art Nouveau style and have the opportunity to experience the emotional impact that art brings in everyday life."
