Introduction to the Technology Evaluation System for World Bank Employees
A KIBO employee is introducing technical evaluation know-how, including the technical evaluation system, to World Bank staff.
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jung Yoon-mo, hereinafter Kibo) announced that it participated in the 'Korea Innovation Week' held from the 18th to the 20th at the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C., USA, where it shared its technology evaluation expertise with World Bank executives and staff.
This seminar was organized at the request of the World Bank to enhance support outcomes for developing countries by disseminating Kibo's technology evaluation system (KTRS) and know-how, as well as cases of developing technology evaluation systems in developing countries through the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP). Approximately 140 participants from nine Korean government agencies including the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Employment and Labor, 49 public institutions, and private companies took part. From the World Bank, Secretary-General Xiao Lin Yang and executives responsible for development fund support and policy formulation for developing countries attended.
At the seminar themed 'Innovation and Entrepreneurship,' Kibo presented as a keynote speaker, explaining KTRS, the core engine of technology evaluation and a technology evaluation system optimized for technology finance, as well as methods of financial support utilizing it. Director Lee Jong-bae of Kibo stated, "This seminar is especially meaningful as it disseminated and shared Kibo's technology evaluation system in the United States, where the venture startup ecosystem is the most developed," adding, "We will continue to expand cooperative projects with international organizations to help foster innovative companies in developing countries."
