[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Amid the mask shortage caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), an Emart24 franchise owner practiced sharing by donating masks to the local community.
On the 21st, Emart24 announced that Moon Minje, the franchise owner operating Emart24 located within the Taean Power Plant in Taean-gun, donated 5,800 masks worth approximately 8 million KRW to the residents of Wonbuk-myeon, Taean-gun on the 5th.
After hearing the news that the best-selling products were donated to the local community, Emart24 headquarters provided Moon Minje with products of the same value, such as wet wipes and hand wash, free of charge on the 17th.
Considering how to utilize these specially supported products from headquarters to boost sales or revenue, Moon Minje decided to donate hygiene products worth about 4 million KRW each to Taean-gun and Siheung-si.
Moon Minje, the franchise owner of Emart24 Taean Power Plant branch, said, "I donated masks with the thought that the community must live for me to live as well," adding, "Upon hearing that headquarters would support hygiene products this time, I decided to donate again to help the underprivileged even a little."
