Second COVID-19 Patient Confirmed in Jeonbuk

A new case of COVID-19 has been reported in Jeonbuk.

On the 20th, Jeonbuk Province announced that A (28), who lives in Gimje, tested positive for COVID-19. This is the second confirmed case in the region, following the 8th confirmed patient in Gunsan.

A is reported to have traveled around Daegu Dongseong-ro and Bukseong-ro from the 7th to the 9th. Showing symptoms of cough and sputum since the 19th, A visited the screening clinic at Jeonju City Public Health Center on the same day and tested positive for COVID-19.

A, along with four family members exhibiting similar symptoms, has been transferred to Jeonbuk National University Hospital, a nationally designated isolation hospital, where they are receiving inpatient isolation treatment. Jeonbuk Province plans to dispatch an on-site epidemiological investigation team to trace A's movements.

The provincial health authorities and Jeonju City Public Health Center will disinfect the office within the National Pension Service Jeonju branch where A worked and conduct an epidemiological investigation.
