Candidate Kim Myung-jin: "I will make Yangdong Traditional Market a nationwide landmark commercial district"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Kim Myung-jin, a preliminary candidate for the National Assembly representing Seo-gu Gap, Gwangju Metropolitan City from the Alternative New Party, stated on the 20th, "Due to COVID-19, the traditional markets and alleyway commercial districts are in such a crisis that people naturally say the economy is 'terrible,'" adding, "Through the development of multifaceted support measures, we will revitalize the Yangdong Traditional Market commercial district and nurture it into a nationwide landmark commercial area full of the flavors and warmth of Honam."

Candidate Kim Myung-jin said, "First, we will actively promote the creation of a comfortable and convenient joint parking lot with more than 100 spaces," pointing out, "The underground parking lot of the Yangdong Market covered shopping area is dark, has many pillars, and is frequently closed during heavy summer rains, making it inconvenient to use. Expanding new parking spaces has become a prerequisite for revitalizing Yangdong Market."

He continued, "For Yangdong Market to leap beyond Honam and become a nationwide commercial district, securing visitor accessibility and convenience is urgent," adding, "We will actively support smooth acquisition of national funds starting from land purchase costs and work closely with Gwangju City, Seo-gu, and the merchants' association to ensure that the joint parking lot construction plan proceeds without any setbacks."
