[Interview①] CEO Kwak Sin-ae "The Jjapaguri Served at the Blue House Luncheon by the First Lady Was Delicious"

Gwak Sin-ae, the producer of 'Parasite,' spoke about the Jjapaguri she enjoyed at the Blue House luncheon.

On the afternoon of the 20th, Gwak Sin-ae held a press conference at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, where she shared various stories about the Oscar-winning film 'Parasite' (director Bong Joon-ho).

'Parasite' made history for Korean cinema by winning four Oscars?Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film?at the 92nd Academy Awards held on the 9th (Korean time 10th) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Following this, the Blue House sent a congratulatory message and hosted a luncheon today (the 20th). The event was attended by the director, actors, and staff of 'Parasite,' as well as producer Gwak Sin-ae.

Producer Gwak said, "Jjapaguri was one of several courses served. First Lady Kim Jung-sook made it with plenty of green onions because they were not selling well."

She continued, "Only a small amount was served, but it was the most delicious Jjapaguri I have ever eaten. I heard she used a different cut of beef."

When asked what kind of conversations they had, Gwak replied, "We shared updates on our lives. There were no special issues; we just talked about various things."

'Parasite' is a film about the meeting of two families that begins when Ki-woo, the eldest son of the unemployed Ki-taek family, steps into the home of Mr. Park for a high-paying tutoring interview, which then spirals into uncontrollable events.

Additionally, 'Parasite' was the first Korean film to win the Palme d'Or at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, the Best Foreign Language Film at the 77th Golden Globe Awards, and both Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Not in the English Language at the 73rd British Academy Film Awards.
