[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jonghyo] Lee Seong-gwon, a preliminary candidate for the United Future Party in Busanjin-eul, officially declared his candidacy for the 21st general election at a press conference held at the Busan City Council briefing room on the afternoon of the 20th.
Candidate Lee stated, "I am running in the 21st general election to utilize the capabilities I have accumulated through various experiences in the legislative branch, administration, diplomacy, and industry and trade sectors for Busanjin-gu."
He continued, "I am no longer Lee Seong-gwon, the youngest lawmaker at 36 years old. I have returned equipped with extensive experience and abilities, capable of competing with the wider world," adding, "I will present many ideas and implementation plans to develop Busan and Jin-gu one by one during the 21st National Assembly election process."
Candidate Lee also asserted, "The Moon Jae-in administration is turning back the clock of history. It is not the progress of our society but only their own lust for power that is advancing," and "Only the people and the opposition party can stop the incompetence and arrogance of this Moon Jae-in government."
He appealed for support, saying, "We have overcome three years of division and reborn as the United Future Party, standing at the starting line for election victory and regime change," and "I, Lee Seong-gwon, will become the candidate of the United Future Party and firmly judge the Moon Jae-in government. I will turn the clock of the Republic of Korea, which is going backward, toward the future again."
