Hanssem Launches 'Environmental Safety Advisory Committee'... Establishing Environmental Safety Assurance Management System On the 20th, the Hanssem Environmental Safety Advisory Committee inauguration ceremony is being held at the Sangam office building in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Hanssem (CEO Kang Seung-soo) has launched an advisory committee composed of external environmental safety experts and has begun establishing a sustainable management system to guarantee environmental safety across its products and services.

On the 20th, Hanssem announced that it held the inauguration ceremony of the "Hanssem Environmental Safety Advisory Committee" at its Sangam office in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The advisory committee members who received their appointment letters included Lee Yoon-kyu, Director of the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology; Cho Sung-moon, Manager at the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute; Lee Jun-gyu, Center Director of the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL); Choi In-ja, Team Leader at the Labor Environment and Health Research Institute; and Kang Dong-hwa, Professor at the University of Seoul. The advisory committee is composed of seven experts from various government-related institutions and academia specializing in indoor air quality, building materials, hazardous substances, labor environment, and environmental and quality certifications.

Starting with the inauguration ceremony, they agreed to hold regular monthly meetings to discuss a wide range of issues related to environment, labor, and safety. They also plan to jointly hold seminars and publish research outcomes and results in booklets, thereby publicizing and sharing their research activities. In particular, they will visit research sites such as the Ansan Living Environment Technology Institute, factories, logistics centers, and construction sites to provide objective evaluations and opinions on improvement measures for the research sites from the perspective of external experts, as well as assessments and improvements of workers' labor environments.

Previously, since 2015, Hanssem has internally established an organization and formed an environmental safety council, discussing weekly improvements in environmental safety for products and services, consumer protection, and social issues. With the formation of this advisory committee, a thorough internal and external verification system for the entire environmental safety field has been established. Hanssem Vice Chairman Lee Young-sik stated, "The awareness and environment of the entire company providing products and services to customers must change together. Although we are making efforts, there are still shortcomings. The technical know-how for safe spaces should not be applied to just one company but should be considered and developed as a way to protect consumers' health across society."
