[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Ahn Cheol-soo, the preparatory committee chairman of the People's Party (tentative name), stated on the 20th regarding the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), "Although it is quite late, from now on, we should impose entry restrictions on foreigners entering from all over China, just like many other countries."

On the same day, Chairman Ahn said on Facebook, "The government's measures are not proactive, are always playing catch-up, and are too late," adding, "I repeatedly emphasize that for the safety of the people, decisions should follow expert judgment rather than political judgment."

Regarding the sharp increase in confirmed cases in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, Chairman Ahn said, "I think it is time to comfort the citizens of Daegu and residents of Gyeongbuk and implement meticulous quarantine measures," explaining, "This means that regional infections, which spread like a common cold, have now begun."

Chairman Ahn said, "Citizens of Daegu, residents of Gyeongbuk, we can definitely overcome this," and added, "Do not be excessively fearful, and if you follow necessary preventive measures such as hand washing and wearing masks, I am confident that we can overcome the current difficulties."
