[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd. held a donation ceremony for fine dust blocking screens at the 'Iyagi Maeul' residential facility for the disabled located in Boryeong-si, Chungnam on the 20th.
Midland Power supported the installation of 388 fine dust blocking screens (worth 50 million KRW) at five social welfare facilities for underprivileged groups around power plants. Specifically, they started by installing 147 screens at two facilities for the disabled, followed by 131 screens at two child welfare facilities, and 110 screens at one elderly welfare facility.
Park Hyung-gu, President of Korea Midland Power, stated, "Midland Power will further concentrate its capabilities to create a healthy living environment for the public, including the disabled and children."
Midland Power plans to invest 2.3 trillion KRW by 2025 to reduce power plants' air pollutant emissions by 80%. Since July 2018, it has been striving to reduce fine dust by operating the industry's first self-developed fine dust emergency response manual.
