Total COVID-19 Deaths in Japan Rise to 3
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The number of deaths due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Japan has increased to three.
NHK reported that two patients confirmed to be infected on the cruise ship Diamond Princess, docked at Yokohama Port in Japan, died on the 20th. The deceased were Japanese man and woman in their 80s, who disembarked on the 11th and 12th of this month after being confirmed infected and had been receiving hospital treatment.
This is the first time a passenger on the Diamond Princess has died from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, on the 13th, an 80-year-old Japanese woman residing in Kanagawa Prefecture died from COVID-19. She was known to be the mother-in-law of a taxi driver in his 70s living in Tokyo who was infected with COVID-19.
