KT's 'Jenny Red'... Galaxy S20 Pre-Order Begins

Advance reservations at nationwide stores and official online mall KT Shop until the 26th

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT will conduct pre-orders for Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy S20' from the 20th to the 26th for 7 days at nationwide KT stores and the official online channel KT Shop.

The Galaxy S20 series consists of three models: the 6.2-inch Galaxy S20, the 6.7-inch Galaxy S20+, and the 6.9-inch Galaxy S20 Ultra, all released exclusively for 5G. ▲The Galaxy S20 comes in three colors: Cosmic Gray, Cloud White, and Cloud Blue. The price is 1,248,500 KRW (VAT included). ▲The Galaxy S20+ offers four colors including the KT exclusive color 'Aura Red,' priced at 1,353,000 KRW (VAT included). ▲The Galaxy S20 Ultra is available in two colors, Cosmic Black and Cosmic Gray, priced at 1,595,000 KRW (VAT included).

◆ Jenny SNS Promotion = KT is holding an SNS promotion called 'Jenny Red Imitation' to celebrate the launch of the exclusive color Aura Red. Customers who upload a certification photo on their Instagram will be entered into a draw to win prizes such as ▲Galaxy S20+ Red ▲Galaxy Buds+ Red. The customer who best imitates Jenny's look in the TV commercial will receive the outfit worn by Jenny in the advertisement. This promotion is open to everyone. Lee Hyun-seok, Executive Director of KT Device Business Division, said, "We have prepared differentiated benefits exclusive to KT along with the Galaxy S20, which features cutting-edge technology and sophisticated design. In particular, through the Super Change and Super Chance R programs, customers can experience the Galaxy S20 without burden."

KT is also introducing the exclusive red color of the Galaxy S20 to the 'Galaxy Buds+'. This is the first time a carrier-exclusive color has been applied to accessories. KT offers a 100,000 KRW cashback as a partnership benefit when customers purchase both the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Buds+ Red simultaneously using the Super DC2 Hyundai Card and set up automatic payment for their telecom bill. The benefit period is from the 27th of this month to March 20.

◆ ‘Super Plan Plus’ Rate Plan = KT is launching the ‘Super Plan Plus’ rate plan, which includes benefits for video, music, VR, and other content. Super Plan Plus comes in three types: ▲Basic Plus (90,000 KRW/month, VAT included) ▲Special Plus (110,000 KRW/month, VAT included) ▲Premium Plus (130,000 KRW/month, VAT included).

The three Super Plan Plus options offer ‘Season Choice’ as a free benefit. Season Choice is an additional service where customers can select two out of three options: ▲‘Season Mix,’ which provides over 210 live TV channels, 80,000 high-definition free VODs including the latest movies and dramas, and points to purchase desired VODs ▲‘Genie Smart Music Listening,’ a real-time music streaming service ▲‘Super VR Pass,’ which allows access to immersive VR content such as movies, games, and education. KT plans to continuously expand the types of content available in Season Choice.

When combining a 25% discount for contract selection and a 25% premium family discount, customers can use the three Super Plan Plus rate plans at up to 50% off. The Super Plan Plus rate plans are available for subscription from the 27th of this month to May 31. Additionally, KT plans to launch the 5G Slim Plus (60,000 KRW/month, VAT included) rate plan in March. 5G Slim Plus provides 8GB of data monthly and unlimited use at 1Mbps speed after data depletion. It also offers one content option from Season Choice as a rate plan benefit. KT launched the ‘5G Y-Teen’ rate plan on the 20th to allow teenagers to use 5G plans affordably. 5G Y-Teen provides 10GB of data monthly for 47,000 KRW and unlimited use at 1Mbps speed after data depletion.

◆ Introduction of ‘Super Change’ and ‘Super Chance R’ = KT is also introducing programs to reduce customers’ smartphone purchase burdens. ‘Super Change’ is a program where customers who use the Galaxy S20 for 24 months and then upgrade to the latest Galaxy series can return their used Galaxy S20 and receive up to 50% of the original purchase price as compensation. The monthly fee is 8,000 KRW (VAT included), and customers can use membership points per rate plan to get up to 100% discount. Super Change subscriptions are available from the 27th of this month to April 30.

‘Super Chance R’ is suitable for customers who want to use the latest smartphone every year. Customers pay a monthly rental fee equivalent to the 24-month installment amount for the device and can return the Galaxy S20 after one year to upgrade to the latest Galaxy series without worrying about remaining installments or penalties. During the Super Chance R usage period, device insurance with coverage up to 600,000 KRW is provided free of charge, allowing customers to use the Galaxy S20 with peace of mind in case of loss or damage. Super Chance R subscriptions are available from the 27th of this month to May 31.

◆ Enhanced Benefits for Reservation Customers = Customers who pre-order the Galaxy S20 and activate it by March 5 can choose one item from ▲Samsung Electronics Galaxy Home Mini or ▲Nemonic Mini. All pre-order customers will receive a 50% discount on display damage replacement costs (limited to one time). Customers wishing to receive gifts can apply via the Samsung Members app or the event site by March 8.

Especially, customers purchasing the Galaxy S20 from the official online mall KT Shop can choose one from ▲Klug Mini Massager SE ▲Samsung JBL Wireless Earphones FreeX ▲Lune Wireless Charging Bluetooth Speaker ▲OA Pure Air Purifier ▲ReQM Gimbal Selfie Stick ▲RAON Mood Light Wireless Charger. The first 10,000 customers who share the Galaxy S20 pre-order event via KakaoTalk will receive a CU Big Yogurt gift certificate.

Using KT partner cards further reduces the burden of purchasing the Galaxy S20. In particular, using the ‘Super DC2 Hyundai Card’ and ‘CEO Woori BC Card’ can provide a total discount of 720,000 KRW on telecom fees over 24 months (30,000 KRW per month) when spending over 1,000,000 KRW monthly. The strength lies in receiving industry-leading discount benefits with just one card.

There is also a newly introduced funeral savings partnership product. ‘KT Kyowon Life 85’ offers a total telecom fee discount of 850,000 KRW over 24 months when subscribing to Kyowon Life’s funeral product (4,290,000 KRW).
