[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Song Goo-young, CEO of LG HelloVision, the number one player in the cable industry, commented on the special alert system for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), saying, "This is a case that well demonstrates the value of cable TV's local characteristics," and urged, "Please work on-site with responsibility and autonomy to optimize for regional characteristics."
On the 19th, at a meeting with regional comprehensive cable operators (SOs), CEO Song said, "From broadcasting content production to sales and after-sales service, please work on-site with responsibility and autonomy to optimize everything for regional characteristics."
He stated, "We will strengthen our fundamental competitiveness by improving cable TV service quality," and added, "Please work confidently with even better products and services." He emphasized, "The know-how and 'first-place DNA' that HelloVision has accumulated while leading the cable TV market will serve as the foundation for leading the future pay-TV market."
CEO Song also stressed again the importance of 'customer value innovation' to ensure that customers using the service can experience sufficient satisfaction, saying, "Maintaining existing subscribers is as important as acquiring new ones." As key practical measures on-site, he requested ▲ strengthening competitiveness centered on products/services ▲ enhancing regionally rooted competitiveness ▲ discovering and sharing best practices.
CEO Song is a sales expert who has worked for 17 years in LG Uplus's sales field and has achieved business results such as exclusive partnerships with Netflix. He led the acquisition task force for LG HelloVision (formerly CJ Hello) and successfully completed the M&A. He was appointed CEO earlier this year.
