LG Electronics launched the 2020 model new product, the 'Tromm Dryer Steam ThinQ,' on the 20th. The new product features patented 100°C 'TrueSteam' technology that not only deodorizes and sterilizes but also reduces wrinkles in clothing.
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 20th that it has launched the 2020 model new product, the 'TROMM Dryer Steam ThinQ.'
The new product features patented 100-degree Celsius 'TrueSteam' technology, which not only deodorizes and sterilizes but also reduces wrinkles in clothing. TrueSteam is a differentiated technology applied to existing LG Electronics home appliances such as stylers and dishwashers, recognized for its competitiveness.
LG Electronics explained that three steam-specialized courses that can comfortably manage clothes and bedding have been verified by the Korea Apparel Testing & Research Institute for their deodorizing performance in reducing odors such as sweat smell embedded in fabrics. The test results showed that the steam sterilization course removes 99.99% of harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Specifically, the 'Steam Refresh Course' reduces fabric odors and alleviates wrinkles for a small amount of clothes without washing. Using the steam option in the 'Bedding Fluffing Course' enables the removal of house dust mites and deodorization. Applying steam in the 'Padding Refresh Course' restores volume and simultaneously reduces odors in padding garments that are difficult to wash.
The LG TROMM Dryer Steam ThinQ offers more convenient use when linked with the AI DD (Direct Drive) washing machine scheduled for release next month. The LG washing machine equipped with wireless internet can be connected with the new product using the LG ThinQ app.
The new product features a smart pairing function that automatically sets the drying course by receiving washing course information from the linked washing machine. Users only need to transfer laundry from the washing machine to the dryer, turn on the power, and press the start button.
The smart care function sets the optimal drying option according to the outdoor temperature and prioritizes settings repeated three or more times by analyzing the usage patterns of the last five times. The new product dries using a low-temperature dehumidification method based on 4th generation dual inverter heat pump technology. The dual inverter heat pump is equipped with a large-capacity compressor with two cylinders compressing the refrigerant, enhancing drying performance and energy efficiency.
The cleaning method has also become simpler. Unlike the manual cleaning method where users must periodically clean the condenser directly with tools like brushes, the condenser automatic cleaning system washes the condenser with water automatically every time the drying course is used. It also includes a condenser care course that allows additional cleaning of the condenser at the customer's request by pressing a button.
The LG TROMM Dryer can be installed indoors in places like the living room or dressing room by simply connecting the power. When combined with the mini wash tub washer at the bottom of the dryer, the washing machine and dryer can be used simultaneously. The new product will be available for pre-order until the 4th of next month and will go on full sale starting from the 5th.
