[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Convenience store Emart24 is partnering with Nonghyup Economic Holdings to promote the consumption of Korean agricultural products.
On the morning of the 20th, Emart24 announced that it will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nonghyup Economic Holdings at the Emart24 headquarters conference room in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, to revitalize the consumption of Korean agricultural products and strengthen the competitiveness of fresh food products.
Emart24 and Nonghyup Economic Holdings will jointly pursue ▲ expanding the stable supply of high-quality domestic agricultural products ▲ maximizing business synergy by utilizing logistics infrastructure and sales channels ▲ developing exclusive products suitable for the convenience store format.
Emart24 will strengthen product competitiveness by sourcing seasonal domestic fruits and vegetables from Nonghyup and will conduct differentiated marketing using the Nonghyup brand. As a result, consumers will be able to purchase fresh agricultural products sourced directly from production areas at convenience stores.
Nonghyup Economic Holdings expects this new sales channel through convenience stores to be beneficial to farmers.
Starting next month, Emart24 will supply and sell seasonal fruits such as Daejeo tomatoes and vegetables like sweet potatoes and potatoes directly from production areas, with plans to expand the variety of products in the future.
