Professor Kwon Soon-ki Elected as the 11th President Candidate of Gyeongsang National University

Vote Rate 50.85%... Recommendation to Minister of Education After Research Ethics Verification

Professor Kwon Soon-ki, elected as a candidate for president of Gyeongsang National University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Son Tae-seok] In the election for the 11th president appointment candidate of Gyeongsang National University, Professor Kwon Soon-ki was elected as the first-priority presidential appointment candidate.

In the election held online by direct vote on the 19th, Professor Kwon Soon-ki (School of Engineering, Department of Nano and Advanced Materials Engineering) defeated Professor Kwon Jin-hoe (School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Information Convergence Engineering) with 50.85% of the votes.

The Gyeongsang National University Presidential Election Committee issued a certificate of election to Professor Kwon, who was selected as the first-priority candidate, in the afternoon of the same day.

In his acceptance speech, Professor Kwon said, "I deeply thank the Gyeongsang National University family for choosing me once again, and I will repay only through the development of the university," adding, "I will accept your choice with a heavy sense of responsibility."

The Gyeongsang National University Presidential Election Committee plans to recommend Professor Kwon as the presidential appointment candidate to the Minister of Education after verifying his research ethics.

The Minister of Education will review the candidate's qualifications and propose the appointment, and once the President makes the final appointment, the selection process for the president of Gyeongsang National University will be completed.
