[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Sung-yeol] Tottenham Hotspur, missing Son Heung-min due to injury, lost 0-1 to Leipzig.

On the 20th (Korean time), Tottenham lost 0-1 at home against Leipzig in the first leg of the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League (UCL) Round of 16, held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, UK.

With Tottenham's key forwards Kane and Son Heung-min both sidelined due to injury, coach Mourinho deployed Moura, Winks, Dele Alli, and Lo Celso to lead the attack.

The absence of Kane and Son was significant. From the first half, Leipzig aggressively pressured Tottenham with 11 shots led by Werner. Tottenham managed only 3 shots.

In the 13th minute of the second half, Davies committed a foul while defending against Laimer's attack, resulting in a penalty kick. Werner calmly converted the penalty, sending the ball into Tottenham's net.

Tottenham attempted to turn the tide by substituting Lamela and Ndombele, but failed to break through Leipzig's defense.

Both teams finished the match without further significant chances, and Tottenham's home defeat has raised red flags for their advancement to the quarterfinals.
