At this meeting, Geumcheon-gu and related organizations introduced various systems to support companies affected by COVID-19 according to each institution.

In particular, the district has been operating five COVID-19 damage reception desks since the 17th at the District Office’s Local Economy Division, G-Valley Corporate Support Center, and Corporate Citizen Hall to support SMEs struggling due to COVID-19. They explained financial support including loans from a 4 billion KRW fund for SME development and funding linked with the Small and Medium Business Corporation, the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, and the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation.

Additionally, plans to revitalize the local economy were announced, including early execution of public purchase budgets for products from SMEs and social economy enterprises, a temporary increase in the discount rate of G-Valley Love Gift Certificates to promote traditional market use, support linking welfare center meal ingredient purchases with traditional markets in the region, and expanded closure days for in-house cafeterias to activate nearby commercial districts.

In response, Chae Mu-seok, Head of the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, said, “We will actively cooperate with Geumcheon-gu Office and related organizations to enable SMEs to overcome the crisis through prompt policy support and to revitalize the domestic economy again.”
