[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at Daenam Hospital in Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongbuk. This brings the total number of confirmed domestic COVID-19 cases to 53.

According to Cheongdo-gun on the 20th, patients A (59) and B (57), who were hospitalized at Daenam Hospital, tested positive last night and were transferred to Pohang Medical Center, which has negative pressure isolation rooms.

They are patients in the psychiatric ward, raising concerns about the possibility of additional confirmed cases due to close contact, causing authorities to be on high alert.

A county official stated, "We are focusing on follow-up measures such as hospital closure, patient transfer issues, and community transmission prevention strategies," adding, "Detailed information about the infection route of these patients will be announced by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."
