[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) received a donation of approximately 18 million KRW for the 'Jungnang Scholarship Fund' from Jungnang Credit Cooperative (Chairman Lee Sang-gun) on the 19th.

The district established the 'Jungnang-gu Scholarship Fund Establishment and Management Ordinance' in November 2008 to discover and nurture outstanding talents in the region and support students facing economic difficulties, thereby starting the fund creation.

So far, about 16.2 billion KRW has been raised through district contributions, interest income, and private donations, and since 2010, scholarships totaling 4.3 billion KRW have been awarded to over 4,000 students.

Jungnang Credit Cooperative contributes annually to nurturing local talents and reducing educational disparities through scholarship donations, and actively conducts donation activities for warm winter funds, elderly without caregivers, and disadvantaged neighbors such as child-headed households.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi expressed gratitude to Jungnang Credit Cooperative for practicing beautiful sharing and said, "Various sharing projects will provide warm support to many neighbors in the region."
