[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Microsoft announced on the 19th that it has appointed Lee Ji-eun, Vice President of Microsoft Korea, as the new CEO.
The new CEO is an expert with over 28 years of experience in management, consulting, and IT, and will officially take office on April 1. She joined Microsoft Korea in 2017 as the head of the Enterprise Global Business Division and has been dedicated to introducing and applying the latest IT technologies such as cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) in Korea.
Going forward, she will oversee Microsoft Korea's business, strengthen its position as a cloud company in the domestic market, and focus on supporting the digital transformation of Korean companies.
The new CEO said, "In the era of intelligent cloud and intelligent edge, we will strive to ensure that customers fully benefit from technology and achieve digital transformation through Microsoft's global infrastructure and latest technologies."
Meanwhile, Go Soon-dong, who has served as CEO of Microsoft Korea since 2016, will serve as Chairman of Microsoft Korea and assist in a stable leadership transition and building a stronger business until his retirement.
