[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 19th that it held a 'Comprehensive Business Agreement Ceremony between the National Assembly Library and Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education' at the National Assembly Library's Conference Room 1.


Through this agreement, the two institutions agreed to share knowledge and information resources, establish a joint cooperation system to spread reading culture, contribute to the efficient implementation of educational policies, and lead the lifelong education system.


The National Assembly Library will provide databases necessary for nurturing talents and academic research required in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution to Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education's staff and students, and mutually cooperate in education and promotion to spread reading culture.


The National Assembly Library, which has built a full-text database of more than 5 million items including monographs, theses, and periodicals, is Korea's top professional and academic information service institution with over 270 million digital knowledge data.


It has also signed academic information mutual cooperation agreements with over 1,900 domestic and international institutions and has been fully supporting library compensation fees for copyrighted material usage since July 1, 2018.


An official from the Provincial Office of Education said, "With this agreement, Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education's staff and students can use the National Assembly Library's bibliographic and full-text databases free of charge, and it will greatly help educational and promotional activities to spread reading culture as well as teachers' professional training."
