[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 19th that it will recruit students for the "13th Organic Agriculture University," aimed at training specialized personnel to lead regional agricultural development, at the Agricultural Technology Center from the 24th to the 28th.
The Organic Agriculture University contributes to sustainable agricultural development by fostering professional farmers through various educational programs, including cultivation techniques for competitive agricultural products, distribution prospects, and processing commercialization.
The 13th course will focus on discovering new income crops such as subtropical crops in response to climate change, cultivation techniques, supply and demand, and consumption trends, and will be conducted in two programs: the "Climate Change Response Class" and the "Organic Farming Technician Class."
The Climate Change Response Class will run from March to July (17 sessions, 74 hours), and the Organic Farming Technician Class from March to November (25 sessions, 100 hours), recruiting 30 people each for a total of 60 students.
Applicants must be farmers residing in the city or citizens interested in agriculture.
Those interested can fill out the application form announced on the city hall website and submit it to the agricultural counseling office in their town or township or to the Rural Development Division of the Agricultural Technology Center.
Naju Agricultural Technology Center Director Na Sang-in said, "The most important factor for the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas is the training of specialized agricultural personnel who will lead change," adding, "In accordance with the mandatory organic agriculture education implemented since last year, we will promote education that farmers truly need, such as opening an organic farming class for safe food production."
