[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] On the 19th, Kang Byung-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the United Future Party, saying it is "a newly absorbed and integrated party formed by gathering a motley crew just to change the signboard of the Liberty Korea Party."
On the same day, Kang appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and, when asked about the 'United Future Party,' called it a "comedic scene," adding, "They emphasize it as a newly established integration, but it has been revealed to be an absorption integration."
He said, "The Hwang Kyo-ahn leadership system remains intact, and only a few top committee members have been added," and argued, "The United Future Party is not a newly established integrated party that has established new values through reflection and innovation on the past. I see it as a gathering of forces involved in state affairs manipulation. It has become the pro-Park Geun-hye party again."
In response, Lee Sang-il, a former member of the United Future Party who appeared together, said, "That is a very insulting remark about the members who joined together," and added, "Even if it is empty words, it would be appropriate to congratulate them, but calling those who joined 'ohapjijol' (a disorganized group) and 'eojung-itteojungi' (a motley crew) is very rude."
He continued, "I want to say, 'Democratic Party, mind your own business,'" and pointed out, "Instead of criticizing the Democratic Party, you filed a complaint against Professor Im Mi-ri, then filed it under the party leader's name, made a proxy apology, sent text message bombs to merchants who said life is difficult in front of the president, and posted comments. It would be better to reflect on these behaviors first."
When Kang said, "I think we should start by acknowledging the impeachment of Park Geun-hye, which was judged by the candlelight citizen revolution, the legislature, and the judiciary," Lee replied, "The river of impeachment has already been crossed. Although it is still insufficient, we are moving forward into the future with the spirit of integration, so the people will watch closely."
