[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The police are expected to soon decide whether to formally indict Lee Boo-jin, President of Hotel Shilla, on allegations of habitual propofol use.
On the 19th, Lee Yong-pyo, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated at a press conference, "We seized and analyzed various accounting records such as hospital medical records and PCs," adding, "We sent inquiries to the National Health Insurance Service and the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency to verify whether the treatments were lawful and proper, and recently received their expert opinions."
The police previously analyzed data obtained from the hospital where the allegations arose and requested professional evaluations from related agencies. They also commissioned handwriting analysis on the hospital's narcotics management ledger, which was suspected of being tampered with.
Commissioner Lee explained, "We will decide on the indictment of the involved parties by synthesizing the investigation details and the responses received," adding, "Since we are in the final stages, it will not take long to reach a decision."
