[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized on the 19th the United Future Party's consideration of strategically nominating lawmaker Lee Eon-ju for Busan Jung-gu and Yeongdo-gu, saying "There was no political philosophy from the start."

On the same day, Jin posted on his Facebook, "It seems they are going to strategically nominate Lee Eon-ju. It's absurd," he said.

He explained, "Lee Eon-ju has changed party affiliations from the Democratic Party to the People's Party, then to the Bareunmirae Party, Forward to the Future Party, and finally to the United Future Party," adding, "This all happened within just four years."

He continued, "During that time, her political stance shifted from one extreme to the opposite extreme," pointing out, "For a person's political philosophy to change from one extreme to another means there was no political philosophy to begin with."

Jin said, "She just chases opportunities here and there, and as a result, has become the second 'Pineije'," and argued, "Of course, politicians can change their party affiliation, but when they do, they must explain to voters 'why they changed their political beliefs.'"

'Pineije' is a nickname for former lawmaker Lee In-je, who changed party affiliations multiple times and, like a phoenix, survived and was elected six times.

He added, "However, Lee Eon-ju has never revealed what her original political ideals were, what triggered the changes, on what grounds, or how they changed," and said, "All she has done in the meantime is shave her head (which suits her well)."

He also said, "This kind of comedy ridicules party politics and fosters political distrust," and added, "It's problematic to bring in a political opportunist to the party, but to even select her as a strategic nomination candidate is outrageous."

Finally, Jin said, "Do they give nominations just because someone shaved their head?" and warned, "Don't mock the voters. The citizens of Busan have the right to be recommended a proper conservative candidate."
