A total of 31 positive cases since the first patient on the 20th of last month... 12 discharged after recovery
Among the Korean residents and family members with Chinese nationality who returned to Gimpo Airport on the 3rd charter flight from Wuhan, China, a passenger showing suspected symptoms of the novel coronavirus infection arrived at the National Medical Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 12th. [Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] One month after the first confirmed case of novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea, the number of confirmed patients has risen to 31. A woman in her 30s from China who arrived at Incheon Airport on the 19th of last month was originally from Wuhan. She was detected with a fever during airport quarantine and was immediately transferred and isolated on site. She is the first confirmed patient in the country.
After patient number 28 was confirmed on the 10th, no additional cases were reported for six days until the 16th, leading to speculation that the situation might be calming down. However, patients number 29 and 30, who had no contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients and no travel history to China, were confirmed in Seoul, and patient number 31 was confirmed in Daegu, sparking fears of community transmission. Below is a timeline of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
