[Asia Economy (Uijeongbu) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Goyang Gyeonggi Culture Creation Hub will carry out various support projects this year. Goyang Gyeonggi Culture Creation Hub is Gyeonggi Province's representative content startup support platform dedicated to the convergence and fusion of cultural content, creation, and startup support, which opened in January last year.
This year, Goyang Gyeonggi Culture Creation Hub plans to invest 600 million KRW in web dramas, entertainment, and web films of startups in the province through cooperation with wavve, the largest domestic online video service (OTT) company, supporting the production and distribution of up to five new media contents. In addition, it will invest 100 million KRW in the 'New Media Story Development Support' project to nurture new storytellers in the province.
Furthermore, to support startups at each stage, it will promote ▲ video content contests open to all residents ▲ academies to expand the base of new media content ▲ new media content startup education for fostering entrepreneurs ▲ new media content startup accelerating ▲ commerce and virtual creator support projects.
Through these various projects, the province plans to achieve results such as startups (76 cases), jobs (170 cases), and startup support (213 cases) by fostering the new media content industry.
Hyun Byung-cheon, head of the Content Policy Division of the province, emphasized, "Gyeonggi Province supports various startups creating diverse broadcasting, video, and new media content centered on Goyang City, a base for producing Hallyu content," adding, "This year as well, Gyeonggi Province will take the lead in discovering Hallyu content based in Goyang City."
