Lotte Mart Receives Premium Certification for 'Jirisan Sunwoohan Hanwoo' for 3 Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Mart announced on the 19th that its representative Korean beef brands, ‘Jirisan Sunwoohan Hanwoo’ and ‘Gangwon Hanwoo,’ have each received premium certification for three consecutive years and won the grand prize at the 2019 Livestock Products Competition.

The premium certification received by ‘Jirisan Sunwoohan Hanwoo’ requires winning the grand prize at the annual Livestock Products Competition at least three times to qualify for evaluation. This brand not only qualified for evaluation for three consecutive years but also met the premium certification standards, establishing itself as one of only three ‘premium certified brand Hanwoo’ in Korea.

Lotte Mart’s ‘Jirisan Sunwoohan Hanwoo’ is the nation’s first wide-area Hanwoo brand based on the livestock cooperatives and member farms of eight cities and counties in the eastern region of Jeollanam-do. This area is free from foot-and-mouth disease, providing a clean environment for raising cattle. Additionally, by operating a direct-feed factory and a dedicated distribution center, optimal breeding techniques are applied according to the Hanwoo’s feeding and growth stages, producing the highest quality Hanwoo.

‘Gangwon Hanwoo’ is a distinguished livestock brand that won the grand prize in 2019, following the highest award in 2017 and the excellence award in 2018. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs oversees the evaluation, and consumer groups along with experts strictly assess each stage of production, slaughter, processing, distribution, and sales based on rigorous criteria.

To commemorate this, from the 20th to the 26th, Lotte Mart will offer all products of ‘Jirisan Sunwoohan Hanwoo’ and ‘Gangwon Hanwoo’ at up to 30% discounted prices exclusively for L.POINT members at all stores nationwide.
