On the 18th, Video Conference Held in the District Mayor's Office with 15 Dong Chiefs... Sharing and Requesting Information on the Ongoing COVID-19 and Snow Removal Issues
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) held a video conference with the heads of each neighborhood office on the 18th in the mayor's office to discuss the recent issues of COVID-19 and snow removal measures.
This meeting was conducted via a non-face-to-face interactive system through video, established to quickly share on-site situations and information with neighborhood community centers that are in direct contact with residents, enabling prompt decision-making.
At the meeting, Mayor Kim Seon-gap praised the efforts of the staff regarding COVID-19 and snow removal measures and conveyed words of encouragement.
Mayor Kim said, “Since confirmed cases have appeared without overseas travel history, we cannot let our guard down,” adding, “I hope each neighborhood head will be especially aware of the situation and respond more thoroughly to daily disinfection and quarantine activities.”
In particular, he requested that in areas with a high foreign population, daily disinfection and quarantine be carried out, and that all administrative power be mobilized to ensure that all visitors using multi-use facilities in the area make mask-wearing a daily habit.
He also emphasized the role of neighborhood heads in the key COVID-19 initiatives promoted by Gwangjin-gu, including ▲second testing for international students ▲promotion of quarantine measures and mask-wearing in religious facilities ▲and preparation of support measures for the depressed local commercial districts.
Following this, instructions were given regarding the heavy snowfall over the past weekend for two days.
Mayor Kim said, “Main roads are well cleared of snow, so there is no concern, but back alleys and side streets may cause various injuries due to people slipping or falling,” and added, “I hope each neighborhood head will strengthen patrols of side streets and shaded alley slopes together with residents and do their best in snow removal.”
The neighborhood heads attending the meeting reported on the current progress of COVID-19 and snow removal measures and shared future directions together.
Mayor Kim Seon-gap stated, “By conducting video conferences, we expect to minimize administrative resource consumption during emergencies and reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection,” and added, “It will be very helpful to quickly share information in disaster situations going forward.”
