Naju City Provides Local Tax Support to Businesses and Citizens Affected by COVID-19

The support targets businesses and citizens who have suffered direct or indirect damage, such as COVID-19 confirmed cases, quarantine-related closures, and visits.

First, the filing and payment deadlines for declared tax items such as acquisition tax, local income tax, and resident tax on employees can be extended without tax payment guarantees within a 6-month period (one extension, up to one year).

For local taxes already notified or to be levied in the future, if payment is difficult, collection deferral without tax payment guarantees is possible within a 6-month period (one extension, up to one year).

Considering the prolonged damage, if the local government head deems it necessary, tax reductions can also be made with the approval of the local council.

Except for unavoidable cases such as the imminent expiration of the statute of limitations for imposition, tax audits for quarantined individuals and affected businesses will be postponed until the period decided by the local government head.

Even if tax audits are currently underway, they will be suspended or postponed.
